'Pastel Pink Roses' 70th Birthday Cake

I was recently asked to create a birthday cake for my Aunty 'June' and this is what I came up with! She loves flowers so that is pretty much all I put on it! Her daughter Leah {and family} and her son Alan {and his family} organised a surprise celebration for her in Toowoomba over the weekend. We enjoyed loads of good food and drinks and got to catch up with family we don't get to see all that often.

You can't really see it in the photos but I dusted the cake and fondant covered board with pearl lustre dust, so it was nice and pearly which made my dome of roses really stand out!

This is the top view, I love how this one turned out ;) Inside is chocolate mud cake...

I used styrofaom {to create the dome}as the base for my roses
so they could be easily removed and kept as a keepsake.

I trimmed the cake with pink satin ribbon tied in a bow at the front,
"Happy 70th Birthday June!"

Wild {Zebra} Cupcake Tower!

This wildly cute cupcake tower was created for a little girls 6th birthday celebration over the weekend.  Inspiration for these cute zebra toppers came from 'Two Sugar Babies', I made them out of fondant icing and hand painted on the details using super black food colour.

I used the same method for the leopard print toppers...

and I also painted stitches around the numeral toppers to tie it all together, these one's were sprinkled with edible glitter aswell...for extra cuteness ;-)

This theme would be just as nice in bright blue or green for the little boys!
Presented on a four tiered acrylic cupcake stand to one of my
regular customers in Warwick ;-)

Happy 6th Birthday Taylor!
{we hope you had a FUN party}

{FREE PRINTABLE TAGS!} Mario Bros Party Ideas

My son recently celebrated his 5th birthday with a Mario Bros party, there is not much you can buy around here at short notice for this theme! {I'm giving you guys some FREE printable jumbo favour tags at the bottom of this post}

Toyworld is a great source for figurines, I used some on Williams cake aswell as these bigger ones on his party table.

I broke out the sewing machine to whip up these favour bags...the actual black bags came from woolworths, they are the small fresh food 'kids' bags {69cents a piece} and have a woolies logo on the front which I covered up with the red and green felt circles, the letters I also cut from felt and sewed on but you could just as easily use glue if you don't sew.

{try right clicking on this colour page if you want to print it}

We photocopied some colouring sheets to put in the bags, along with some textas and a box of lollies.  Use your kids colouring in books to scan in and print off one picture then take it to your copyshop and have them print off as many as you need {5cents a copy} If you have a few to print off I find this cheaper than doing them all on the home printer.

Here are the Jumbo Favour Tags I made, you simply print these, cut them out and stick them on your favour bags or punch a hole in them and tie them onto your favours with jute / twine or ribbon.  I actually made these to wrap around the buckets of fairy floss, I'm sure you'll come up with something!
Don't forget to check your printer setttings, landscape for these tags;-)

You will need adobe reader to open the file if you have any problems just email me :)
